Net Image Group recently was tasked with updating the K and K Homes, Inc. website located at http://www.kandkhomesinc.com. K and K Homes is a custom home building with more than 20 years of experience building homes in the Des Moines and surrounding area.
The original K and K Homes site was created largely in Fireworks. While this strategy is sometimes useful when using complex backgrounds to slice images together, it also has it’s share of shortcomings. For instance, text is made into images and is not easily updated, read by search engines, and creates large file size. A simple solution is to use a CSS Style Sheet to define page and site wide styles which can be modified quickly and immediately become site wide. Net Image Group reproduced the look using CSS Style Sheets. Additionally, no text is contained in images any more and will have a better chance to get K and K Homes recognized in search engines. Additional features such as a dynamic photo gallery, Flash Video, and the ability to obtain better site statistics were built into the site.
